The limited space in Hong Kong forces people to move upwards; creating events on the rooftop. Now back home, I need to satisfy my cravings for rooftops. And there, this beautiful thing called “Rooftop Bars”. So here are 9 rooftop bars in Singapore.
Rooftops are cool, bars are cool, and when you add them together, you get AWESOME. I enjoy watching the world from above, sipping my drinks and observing the world go by below me. Living in cities of skyscrapers, it is also comforting to view the skyscrapers at eye-level. The prices are about S$20++ for a drink.
1. Ce La Vi | Marina Bay Sands
Located beside the infinity pool on the top of Marina Bay Sands, Ce La Vi is one of the must-go places when you’re in Singapore. You might think it’s just a rooftop, but there are a club, bar and even a restaurant. PS; the infinity pool is just around the corner too.
This elegant and sophisticated environment is definitely a place to relax and groove to the beat. The dress code is usually casual formal, but it also depends on the event. You might think it’s definitely expensive to party/chill here, but as someone who doesn’t like spending too much on entertainment, there is a way. Ladies night and event nights are one of the best things that can happen. Wednesdays are ladies night and there was no cover charge to get in, and I got a free drink too!

2. 1-Altitude | One Raffles Place
282 metres above ground, it is Singapore’s highest entertainment venue. Alfresco Gastrobar on level 63, European restaurant on 62 and sports bar on 61, this place is indeed for everyone. Watching the sunset with your friends or loved ones with a drink in hand, it is no wonder people get drunk easily – drunk with the scenic view. A place to chill, a place to party or a place to enjoy the 360-degrees view of Singapore, 1-Altitude is definitely the place to be. There’s usually free entry on ladies night.
3. Halo | Wangz Hotel
Located in the quiet areas of the city, this rooftop lounge is a perfect place for catching up with friends. It’s less noisy than other rooftop bars so it’s a great spot for a romantic dinner with a view or catching up with your best girlfriends or buddies. They’ve got deals for drinks so check out their facebook page for more details of upcoming promotions or events. Happy hour never felt happier with 2-for-1 drinks or S$10++ tapas.
4. Lantern | Fullerton Bay Hotel
Fullerton Bay is one of the best spots in Singapore, with countless rooftop bars with amazing views. Fullerton Bay Hotel is one of the icons in Singapore. Sitting by the Singapore River and looking at the gorgeous Marina Bay Sands, it is a place to chill and relax. The 5-metre long bar counter is not only the thing to blow you away, but their rooftop pool allows people to go for private midnight dips.
Prices: From S$25
5. Supertree | Gardens by the Bay
Yet another rooftop bar in Marina Bay area. Amongst the supertree grove, this restaurant/bar is by IndoChine and services a plethora of beverages, cocktails, beers and wine. You’ll have the city line on one side and nature’s very own beauty on the other. I would suggest that you go for a drink rather than a full meal there. Check out 10 Things to do in Gardens By The Bay when you are there!
6. Baywatch@Jen | Hotel Jen
Baywatch? More like Bae-watch. This is one of my favourite rooftop pools in Singapore. Sipping your favourite cocktails in the middle of the city, watching over the bustling city life below, and dipping your toes into the cold pool water under the extreme heat. There are a lot of spaces so it is also a great place to chat with your friends and chill over the nice weather! Bonus: book a staycation with Hotel Jen and enjoy the clubroom facilities!

7. La Terraza | Screening Room
Another rooftop bar in Ann Siang Road, this cosy area is for you to catch a good classic with the most chill environment. On the 5th floor of The Screening Room, you’ll be mesmerised by the beauty of Singapore’s Chinatown.
8. Cloud 9 | Naumi Hotel
The Cloud 9 pool & bar provides a panoramic view of the skyscrapers ahead. Look out for the architectural landmarks and buildings that define the skyline of Singapore. The infinity pool is open only to the hotel’s guests but the general lack of service staff means that you can attempt to slip in unnoticed. Suggestion: get your drinks on the ground floor as there isn’t a large selection of cocktails.

9.风和日丽 | Looftop
Those Chinese words mean a good day. When you are in primary school (elementary school), your first sentence would definitely include the 4 Chinese words. This place is a very local place, frequent by young adults. The key attraction is possibly the reason of nostalgia of locals. You might want to mingle in the local crowd then.
Address: 331 North Bridge Road, #03-07 Odeon Towers Extension Rooftop, Odeon Towers, 188720
Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday, 5pm-1am
