So we ended things in North Africa. Obviously the next stop is Europe! Here’s the round the world travel itinerary and this continent is Europe.
A continent that I call home, Europe is next.
From Tangier in Morocco, it is possible to enter Spain via Gibraltar in Spain. Then I will start my trip in Europe with Faro in Portugal, the south of Portugal is filled with festivals and parties in summer. Albufera also has one of the most gorgeous sunsets, and I have to capture them.
After that, I will head up to Porto to find my friends and hopefully join some festival during that period. After all the partying and drinking, it is time to cleanse oneself. Journey on to Carmino de Santiago in Galicia, Spain to find peace within. It is a religious walk where people embark on, to pray and be closer to God.
Then, I have to visit the Bilbao museum. Followed by visiting friends in Zaragoza, Madrid, Seville, Malaga and join in the bulls race in Granada. Then more friends in Valencia, Mallorca and Barcelona. It is like reliving summer 2016 again! If you’re a fan of the sea and sun, let’s head to Ibiza and Iberia islands.
Then going towards France, I will visit Andorra for the hikes and old town, Toulouse to visit a friend, Marseille to visit many friends and to see the city after hearing about it for years. Then I have to be in Aix-en-Provence, perhaps one of the most beautiful cities of France.
And there is also French Riviera, San Topez, Cannes and Monte Carlo in Monaco. These cites are beautiful beyond words with great weather and amazing food (unlike Brittany). And if I am there in August, I get to see all the cars I saw in Middle East as the royal families transport their cars to the South of France for their summer vacation.
After that, I have to continue my journey to the harbor cities in France: Bordeoux, La Rochelle, Carnac, Concarneau. Then take the train to Rennes and Paris to visit my friends and leave for London.
In the UK, I will visit the Stonehenge in Winchester, Oxford university and Cambridge to visit some very smart friends. Then I will proceed to my dream destination of UK: Islay in Scotland. I love scotch, and there is nothing better than Islay scotch. In fact, I made friends from the scotch brands while living in the Netherlands. Perhaps it is time to visit these friends in Scotland! In Islay, I can also do a whisky tour.
Then, I will go to Edinburg to visit a friend before flying to the north: Iceland, Bergen, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen. There, I will do hikes, visit waterfalls, fjords and hopefully see the northern lights, if the season permits.
After, I will go down south to Germany via Hamburg, Bremen, Leipzig, Bayreuth (great festivals), Nuremburg, Stuttgart, Munich and the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Germany is like my other home and I am always exploring Germany. But I value the country’s culture and its willingness to admit to their heritage. We have so much to learn from them.
Head back to Austria via Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna. I love Austria (no kangaroos), for it is so beautiful. It has great weather and beautiful history. Most cafes and buildings are still so old, as they were not destroyed. It is common to see 100 year old cafes around Vienna.
After, visit Budapest. Everything is cheap, people are friendly and they are partying all day long! Not to mention, everyone looks so attractive and the buildings are beautiful. Places to visit in Budapest:
- Tomb of Gul Baba – remnants of Hungary’s occupation by the Ottoman Empire
- Óbuda’s Fő tér – old city
- Szentendre – open-air ethnographic museum, cobblestoned, quaint center
- Esztergom – Central Europe’s largest cathedral and religious center
- Visegrád – medieval castle
- Eger – medieval castle and wine region
- Fisherman’s Bastion
Then on a Game of Thrones + I-miss-the-sea mission, I will go down the coast of Croatia: Zegreb, Split, Dubvnik and then Greece in Corfu, Oia, other islands, Athens, Thessaloniki and Delphi.
