Massage in El Nido, Palawan is quite difficult to find.As you may or may not know, many massage places in Asia are rather dodgy. Go to the “wrong” massage and you end up with the “happy ending” massage or more than just massage itself. That’s why you should avoid calling room service massage unless it is in a reputable hotel. I am sharing this story as I just ended my massage at the Organic Spa in El Nido. Having been here for 5 days now, I was really having troubles finding a good massage parlor.
The Organic Spa in El Nido
So the past days, I was checking out the massage options in the city and inquiring from within. I was with Elliott, my boyfriend. You know the place is quite suspicious when upon inquiry about their prices and services, they look up and down at my boyfriend, ready to devour him. We did not choose that, obviously. So I took my search to the Mr Google. Google tells me a few places in fancy hotel resorts, and then there’s this – The Organic Spa.
The spa parlor has a nicely designed website stating the information and services. They are situated in the city centre of El Nido by the beach, on level 2. They provide many services like foot massage, facial, sunburn care, full body massage and Philippines-style massage. My body was aching desperately and I chose the Philippines-style massage.
Philippines-style Massage in El Nido
What is this style of massage? It is a mix of Swedish and Thai, using both rubbing techniques and pressure point. I told the lady (Celia) that my shoulders are aching from kayaking the entire day and she proceeded to do a 1h massage just on my back. MAN, DID SHE FIX THAT ACHE IN MY SHOUDLERS!
The massage works on adding pressure to parts that ache. She was a true expert too, knowing where to add pressure and where not to. There was also some pulling of arms and legs for stretching and boy, did my body crack.
In short, the massage was great. The oil they used is a citrus oil that soothes your mind when you are relaxing. I think I will bring Elliott back tomorrow! After all the shitty and dodgy massage places in El Nido, I definitely suggest The Organic Spa. Also, find Celia if you can. She is great.
Massage Prices in El Nido
Price-wise, you will not be surprised that El Nido is more expensive than most of the Philippines. But that being said, the massage are all of the same prices in the city! A full-body Swedish massage is 400php for 1 hour. Philippines massage is 500php for 1 hour. Sun-burn care with aloe vera is 700php for 1 hour. So since prices are all the same, I definitely recommend this Organic Spa in El Nido!
