Huahin is a place near Bangkok, accessible with those intercity mini-buses. A perfect getaway from the busy city of Bangkok, with beaches and caves! If you are in Bangkok, consider this weekend 2D1N Huahin itinerary.
“Oh my, look at this cave. Let’s go there!” I said, looking up from my magazine. We were in Cambodia and I was embracing the summer vibes. A cold drink and fresh fruits in hand while I read my magazine in my bikini by the infinity pool. I was reading the latest issue of travel and leisure magazine. They had a short article featuring this amazing cave and it was near Bangkok. “Ok let’s go everywhere you want”, he replied smiling at me.
There, we began our research on this impromptu trip while on a trip to an impromptu country. We found out that this cave is in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park and we made some plans for Huahin. Picture credit.
Huahin is a place near Bangkok, accessible with those intercity mini-buses. It’s about a 2.5h bus journey and super convenient for a quick getaway. There are beaches, shopping area and interesting sights. The most interesting is perhaps that Huahin is the place for the kings and queens. King Rama VII has a royal residence there.
Day 1: Eating and Beaches
With the bus, you will arrive at around mid-day. There, we walked around, exploring the beaches, temples and finishing off with a scrumptious seafood meal.
Being close to the sea, Huahin also offers a great range of fresh seafood. It’s exactly what was being eaten on the first night in Huahin. And it’s very affordable and delicious. I recommend fried morning glory, papaya salad, fresh calamari and fresh prawns.

Sleeping to The Sound Of Crashing Waves
Well, because it was a quick decision, we did not book any accommodations until we were there. Thankfully there was WiFi to research. We narrowed down a hostel that was nearby and booked a night on the spot. The hostel was along the sea and we fell asleep to the crashing of waves on the shore!
Day 2: Hiking
We decided to take the next day to hike and explore the cave. We took booked another night and headed back to Bangkok in the afternoon. Well, the main reason for going back to Bangkok early is to shop, otherwise staying longer in Huahin would be great too.
Huahin has 2 theme parks, great hiking place and nice beaches. There were also bike rental services and we could have easily explored the town if we stayed longer. Nonetheless, it was a great mini weekend trip.
