Langkawi is best for a weekend getaway from the bustling city life and to enjoy some peace and quiet in nature. A short flight from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and many other neighbouring cities, it is also accessible by boats from the islands in Malaysia and Thailand.
What to do
3 to 4 days is enough for your stay there, to explore the island. There are a total of 99 islands and 4 large parks in the area, including beaches at the shores. There are also landmarks, which you should not miss out on your trip there.
Spend your first day in the north-western side of the island, in the Geopark. Visit Oriental Village during the day and ride the cable car up to the sky bridge. The Sky Bridge is something you definitely want to go to. It gives you a panoramic view of the island and other neighbouring islands too. After you are done with Oriental Village and the sky bridge, head down to the waterfall to admire the beauty of Mother Nature. Take a plunge in the pools on the way up to the peak, or hike to the bottom with a natural pool there. Consider staying in Geopark Hotel there.
Get out of Langkawi’s main island. You can choose to go on island hopping for half a day, jet-ski island hopping for a full day, snorkeling in Coral Island or kayak into the mangroves and explore the bat cave in the eastern side of the island. You can get your tickets at Kuah Jetty, at your hotel or independent travel agencies in Pantai Cenang.
Talking about Pantai Cenang, head there to spend the day by the beach. There are many water activities like diving, snorkeling, swimming, jet-skiing and parasailing, just to name a few. The beach is famous for its touristic water activities. Do also check out the rice padi field and underwater world when you are there!

End the day in Kuah Town Centre and grab some local seafood there. Things are cheaper in Kuah than in Pantai Cenang. You will be impressed at what Kuah has to offer as well. Consider staying at De Baron Resort.
Head towards the north on your last day; visit the Black Sand Beach (but not as impressive, I must admit) and glass village on how they produce glass. There is also a Durian Waterfall and Hot Spring nearby, which you can also check it out. Alternatively, you can do more water activities or island hopping activities. Or simply spend the day enjoying the facilities of your hotel.
Hope that you will spend an amazing time in Langkawi! Do share and comment on your travels if you went there.
