The Centurion Lounge by American Express has recently opened in HKG (early October 2017) and offers a further option for trevellers passing through the airport.
Located just before Gate 60, the lounge is split into two areas – the AMEX Platinum card holders area, and the invitation only Centurion card holders area. As I’m not a Centurion Card holder, this review is only related to the Platinum card holders area.
Upon entering, after a short walk way which over looks the below restaurants and the entrance to the Cathay “The Pier” entrance, you are greeted with a pretty spacious area with a bar and seated dining options.
The Centurion Lounge offers a full complementary bar as well as self serve hot & cold food.
As with several other lounges in HKG, you have full view of several gates and a runway, which provides a pretty nice opportunity to geek out and watch the airport motions.
The lounge has a good amount of seating, however, I can see it filling up rather quickly, as they haven’t crammed the lounge full.
The Wi-Fi was very fast compared to other lounges, so you will find it easy to work here.
If I had the option of The Centurion Lounge vs The Plaza Premium Lounge next door, The Centurion Lounge would be my first choice as the facilities are more plentiful.
