Complete your authentic bath experience by staying in a Georgian townhouse with Bath Boutique Stays. Bath is known for their Georgian architecture and culture of the 1700s. From fancy gala balls to night parties, Bath was at the heart of the rich and fancy. Fast forward to 2018, you can still experience that easily.
Bath Boutique Stays feature an authentic Georgian townhouse, beautifully furnished and large enough to throw your own fancy party. We stayed at Mr Darcy’s Abode, a 5 storey townhouse in Bath!

About Bath Boutique Stays
Mr Darcy’s Abode
The townhouse is a listed Georgian property, meaning that is it certified to be real and preserved. Inside, it was basically a mansion! The entire place has 7 rooms, enough to fit 20 people. There is also a cosy room in the basement, perfect for long night talks with your best friends.
Other than that, the place is centrally located, near local shops and restaurants. It takes 20 min to walk to the city centre or 12 min by bus. You can also drive, as there are parking spaces available.
Other than the rooms, I really fell in love with the kitchen. The kitchen is on level 4. It takes up an entire room, so you can imagine how huge it is. It features a long table for 20 people and fully functional kitchen.
The beautiful thing about the kitchen is that it comes with a complete set of Victorian-style tea set and cocktail, champagne and wine glasses. You can buy some cupcakes and tea sets and make your own tea time at home! It is also a great place to pre-party before heading out to the city at night!
Experience In Bath Boutique Stays
Overall, the experience was great. We had a lovely time and it better than imagined. The apartment is old but it is well furnished.
The apartment has seven large bedrooms with king-sized beds and adult sized bunk beds. There are plenty of rooms and beds for a family, bachelorette party or corporate party. Georgian townhouses are unique for their high ceiling and large windows, so there is plenty of natural light! We were lucky to be there during the sunny day, so we woke up to the natural light warming up the room.
My favourite room is the basement room with a TV and 7 large sofas. The tv has Netflix and a wine chiller. Imagine having your best girlfriends for a bachelorette party, gathering in the basement with cocktails and wines, chatting about everything.
Toilets are important. A nicely designed toilet reflects well on the design of the place. There are 5 toilets, some are attached to the rooms and some independent on their own. Only the toilet at the roof has a bathtub. It also has a window for natural light to come in from the attic! We had some nice bath times when the sun was shining into the toilet.
The toilets come with Cowshed toiletries, with shampoo, conditioner and body bath and scented candles, which you could light up when in the bath.
Bath Boutique Stay is located near all the main attractions, but far away from where all the tourists are based. It takes 12 minutes to get to the centre with the bus and 20 minutes on foot. I very much prefer walking because Mr Darcy’s Abode is near lots of old buildings and Hedgemead Park.
