We were walking aimlessly and stumbled upon the hipster place of Johor Bahru. All we knew about that place, was the existence of food! “Okay. Lets turn right then turn left then see where it leads us and go from there.” That’s the plan. And that was one hell of a good plan.
Hipster background to match my favourite romper. It really was a good plan because in the end, we did find an awesome café. “Eh they sell desserts. Wanna eat desserts?” We girls love desserts, so we went in without a doubt.
I suddenly felt like I was in one of the little quaint cafes in Taiwan. We found a seat and went to order the Mille Crepe cake. Mille Crepe cake is a cake made out of layers and layers of crepe. I did not order one initially because I had a bad experience eating the Mille Crepe cake in Ion Orchard Singapore. I got the famous Café Brulee instead.
The Café Brulee was awesome. It was their invention from the idea of crème brulee. The coffee had a caramalised sugar topping that made the coffee taste awesome.
Mille Crepe Cakes
Maco Vintage specializes in their desserts, in particular their mille crepe cakes. In fact, they have a free delivery all around Malaysia.
These are their popular ones: 3 in 1, baileys, rum & rasins, and durian. Their durian crepe cake is seriously so good. I feel in love with it when the tip touched my lips. The rich thick texture that is creamy and fragrant. I can’t help but devour everything immediately.
Here’s a funny story. The durian mille crepe cake is only available on the weekends. We were lucky that they still had 5 pieces when we were there (Sunday). We got a slice for us to share and I’m a huge durian lover. It tasted so good that we were commending it all the time. We also mentioned that there’s only 4 slices left, so we should buy them home too. The lady at the table beside us kept looking at us. When she heard it’s going to be gone, she immediately asked for the waiter to bring her a slice! It’s funny how we are easy influenced by the decisions of people around us.
The Mille Crepe cakes are also a popular option for birthday cakes. They do sell in a cake size or in slices. I should seriously consider getting the durian crepe cake for my 21st birthday! Maco Vintage is on their journey to expand and will be introducing special birthday cards too.
Other than desserts, their main course and coffee are very popular too. The ambience is great and you can definitely chill there with your girlfriends over lunch followed by coffee and desserts.

Thank you Maco Vintage for introducing us such awesome coffee and mille crepe cakes. I don’t eat mile crepe cakes because I’ve had a bad experience before. However, I am not going to eat mille crepe cakes again because this was too good and I probably can’t find any awesome mille crepe cakes every again! 🙁
