Where Is This Holy Sacred Place
It is definitely not new information that everyone shops at Argyle Centre. It is the place that guys HATE and girls LOVE. I’ve been there a few times myself, and see poor boyfriends getting pulled by their girlfriends and hopping from shop to shop. This place is convenient and easily accessible.
How to Get to Argyle Centre
Argyle Centre is in Mongkok, the shopping area. Simply go to Exit B2 of Mongkok Station. Upon exiting, you will see Café de Coral on your right. Walk towards the main street to Bonjour, the beauty shop. In between, you will find the door to enter Argyle Centre.
Shopping Centre: Argyle Centre
Address: 688 Nathan Rd, Mong Kok, Kowloon
Operating Hours: 11 am – 2 am, daily
To Do at Argyle Centre
It is basically a huge shopping mall selling clothes, shoes, bags and everything in between! There are 3 levels with a basement. Not only are there shops everywhere, there are also pushcart-shops and pop-up stores in the middle. It is always filled with people and you might have to squeeze a little, especially during peak holiday and weekend periods.
Shopping fanatics, you will have a really enjoyable time there. There is perpetually discounts all the time, usually because some shop is closing down. There are opening sales, closing sales, holiday sales and random sales. Bring your wallet, a huge bag and get ready to shop!
I would say it is similar to that of a messier version of Far East Plaza in Singapore and Platinum Mall in Bangkok. If you frequent Shenzhen’s Lao Jie, it is a similar scene there.

And as for all the sweet guys who follow their girlfriends for shopping, no worries! There is free wifi to entertain you while she shops. I would not say that there are many shops for male fashion, but it is possible to find some.
Cost at Argyle Centre
The cost there is unbelievable. Some shops start as low as HK$4.99! The usual prices range from HK$25-50 for a basic top. That is like US$3.22-6.45. You can also find lots of products there, from accessories to bags, shoes and clothes.
Things To Note
Most of these products are made in and imported from China. Do check for the quality of the product before leaving the zip, holes, sewing, etc. Some are rejected goods due to poor workmanship or awkward cutting.
There are also many people there, so always be careful of your belongings like money and assets. Pickpocketing is not common in Hong Kong, but always be wary of your surroundings.
Negotiating for prices, aka bargaining, is possible. The usage of Cantonese also helps greatly with the negotiation. Otherwise, the things are cheap enough and English also works.
