Here are 5 essential travel tips for packing if you are a lady. Instead of pails of accessories and buckets of makeup, all you need are 2 accessories, 2 makeup items and a regular good smartphone. With that, grab your passport and off we go!
With experience come lessons to learn. As such, I’ve learnt the art of packing. Packing is all about bringing what is necessary and bringing as less as possible.
Shades are important no matter what country, season or fashion. This pair of mine has been with me for a couple of years now and I have NEVER left the country without it. Finding a pair of shades for your face frame is important and once you find it, you would not let it go.
A watch to tell time, a watch as a fashion piece and a watch to finish that look. I realized that more often than not, a watch is enough to finish the look you are going for. It makes it really easy to pack for trips because now, I rarely pack accessories! Basic colour watches like white or black works best to pair with your outfits.
I am not a strong believer in make-up so all I need is a foundation for the base. A foundation to cover some blemishes and a sunblock to protect your skin. The first time I used it, I got hooked on and have been using it since. It’s important to protect your face, especially during harsh weather conditions when travel.
Makeup: Eyebrow Pencil
To frame your face, all you need is to fix your brows and lips. That’s why the next essential on my list is an eyebrow pencil. A good eyebrow pencil gives you the natural look that makes you picture perfect. Find a colour that is slightly lighter than your natural brow colours. You do not want to overpower the brows.
Navigation, Communication, Research: Phone
Lastly, the phone is something I cannot survive without. With all my essential travel apps and information inside, it’s what I MUST HAVE when I travel. A phone is perfect for everything, communication with friends, searching for information online, a phone is all you need. You can argue that a tablet or laptop is better, but packing light is more important.
Essential travel apps:
- GoogleMaps, because Apple maps is really terrible
- XE Currency, the best currency exchange app with real-time information
- Find my iPhone app
- Camera: Instagram
These are the 6 apps that are free or already on your phone.
There, with these 5 items with me, all I need now is my passport and credit card. Different people have different essentials for travel, but I think these are my 5 essentials. 2 must-have accessories to complete the look (shades and watch), 2 must have makeup essentials (CC-cream and eyebrow pencil) and a phone with everything inside. “If travelling is free, you probably will never see me again.”
